My love for running is taking me to places around the world that I have dreamed of visiting. I love the challenge the races provides and the opportunity to visit somewhere new and beautiful, it is so rewarding and inspiring. While I do these challenges I also want to support The Gracias Foundation as a charity close to my heart, please feel free to support their many projects by donating on the link below.

Edinburgh Marathon

Distance: 42km
Website: http://www.edinburgh-marathon.com/
The Edinburgh Marathon is Scotland’s biggest running event.  The course is flat and fast and runs eastwards from the city centre to the finish in Musselburgh.   I had decided, at the last minute, to take part in this marathon to run with my sister and help her through her first marathon, so for us it would not be fast but rather a steady run.
The day was extremely hot but the route was great with much of it along the seaside on Portobello Promenade.  My sister did fantastically well coping with the heat, the distance and me chattering away in her ear.   This was only the second run I have done with my sister since she started running a couple of years ago, living in different countries makes it difficult to run together.   I was therefore very excited to help her achieve her goal and we very happy that we managed to come in under her target time of 5 hours.
Time: 4hrs 59 mins
Result: 6324
